The rapid pace of societal change and the increasing demand for education have propelled a new era of digital transformation. In response, educational processes are undergoing a significant shift, embracing the use of digital technology and harnessing the potential of open education to foster greater flexibility, accessibility, and sustainability. The focus of presentation is on the transformative power of the Leadership in Open Education (LOE), a master's program offered in partnership with the UNESCO chair on Open Technologies for Open Educational Resources and Open Learning at the Jožef Stefan Institute as an upgrade of OE4BW online mentoring program.
This program equips students with the knowledge, skills, and leadership competencies needed to navigate the evolving landscape of open education. By leveraging the diverse perspectives and experiences gained during study, future education leaders can expand their horizons and contribute to the global open education community. The Leadership in Open Education Master's Program is strategically designed to empower educators with the tools and strategies necessary to harness the potential of open education. By integrating digital technologies, open educational resources, and innovative teaching practices, the program enables participants to create impactful learning experiences and drive positive change in education.

Životopis predavača:
Tijana Ilić is a Professional Associate in the area of Open Education at the School of Engineering and Management, University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia, where she coordinates the development and management of the online master's program "Leadership in Open Education" since 2021.
Ilic obtained her doctoral degree in 2014 at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia on the topic "Self-evaluation of Geography Teacher Professional Development in Serbia". Soon after, she won a prestigious Erasmus Mundus postdoctoral fellowship for research training at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, on the topic "ICT Professional Development of Academic Staff".
Combining her academic experience with over 15 years of work as a geography teacher in a school setting, her research focus is on digital education and the use of digital tools in the context of lifelong learning. Throughout her geography teaching career, Ilić has experienced various professional roles. She has been a teacher trainer in education projects related to digitalization and the use of digital classroom in Serbia. She is also an author/co-author of several papers published at national and international conferences. Furthermore, Ilić has served as a Springer book editor and a project expert in the evaluation of the Geography curriculum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ilić also hold the position of vice-president of EUROGEO, a professional geography organization, and has actively participated in various education events (education fairs, science nights, international competitions, hackathons) during her teaching career.
