Nowadays, informatics is interdisciplinary connected to all scientific fields and represents, in the long term, one of the most important and most promising economic branches altogether. In order to achieve mastery over computer and information technologies, we need the best technicians and experts.
The suggested postgraduate study programme is vital as the basis for a rapid development of the field, acting as the factor that offers new possibilities and challenges.
With this study the Department of Informatics seeks to meet the inevitable need for the education of manpower in accordance with contemporary scientific insights, which would be able to give an original contribution to the scientific field of information and computer science.
Dynamic development of informatics and globalisation of world economy creates a growing need for mobility of people, goods and information. Information science, taking interdisciplinary approach in doing scientific research and by introducing new technologies, needs to ensure scientific solutions which aim at increasing productivity, rationality and safety in the field of applied information technology.
The suggested postgraduate study programme in Informatics is comparable to similar study programmes in Croatia as well as at European universities. In the new conditions of the modern Trsat Campus students have sophisticated machines and programming equipment at their disposal. Doctoral studies offer the possibility to work in economic, business and social organisations during the study.
