Accessibility Statement
The Department of Informatics, a constituent of the University of Rijeka, strives to ensure digital accessibility of its websites to all users regardless of their abilities and used technologies in compliance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia (official gazette “Narodne novine” no. 17/19, hereinafter: the Act), in effect as of 23 September 2019, and in accordance with the Directive (EU) 2016/2012 of the European Parliament and Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L327, 2 December 2016).
This accessibility statement applies to websites of the Department of Informatics, University of Rijeka, located on the following web address: https://www.inf.uniri.hr/.
Compliance status
The following website https://www.inf.uniri.hr/ is partially compliant with the aforementioned Act due to implementation of the new CMS platform and redesign of websites in 2019.
Partial compliance means that some parts of the content, which will be listed below, are not fully in compliance with all Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) stipulated by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) via Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
Department of Informatics is committed to making its website accessible, while continually improving and remediating accessibility issues, in accordance with the accessibility standards.
Inaccessible content
According to the results of the tool used to test the accessibility, several elements of the Department of Informatics' website do not meet the requirements of the minimum contrast ratio between the background color and the text color. In order to provide people with visual impairments with the best possible user experience when using our site, we have implemented the ability to change the contrast by clicking the mouse or using the keyboard.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 17 September 2020 in line with the model accessibility statement which is in accordance with the Directive (EU) 2016/2012 of the European Parliament and Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, established by Commission Implementing Decision.
The assessment of compliance with accessibility requirements is the result of self-assessment and automated accessibility checks using the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool conducted by the Department of Informatics, University of Rijeka.
The statement was last reviewed on 21 September 2020.
The Department of Informatics of the University of Rijeka will regularly revise this Statement after eliminating the reasons for inaccessibility, and at least once a year.
